Lutomia Kuto

Lutomia Kuto is a professional clinical dietician, Lutomia is also a singer, song-writer and freelance violinist.  She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon but has her roots in Kenya, East Africa.  As a first-generation, Kenyan-American, she closely and equally identifies with and values her bicultural upbringing.

Lutomia loves to mix the musical ideas of African and Western music.  She aspires to use her God-given gifts to make a positive impact and influence on those around her.  Lutomia released her debut album titled, Asante in July 2008. Asante features a gorgeous blend of traditional African gospel melodies with rich harmonies and authentic and live African druming.

Lutomia’s musical influences include African pop, R and B, Neosoul, Jazz and more.  Part of the proceeds of her debut album Asante go towards supporting the building of a rural peace and community resource center in her family’s village of Chwele, Kenya.
